This event is open to the public and all safety protocols will be in place including, but not limited to social distancing. We ask all to be in place by 9:50 am as we will begin at 10:00 am sharp.
Memorial Day is set aside to remember the more than 1 million men and women who have lost their lives defending America in wars from the Revolution to the global war on terrorism. This year, the American Legion is also remembering the First Responders in America who have lost their lives protecting us all.
The point of contact for this event is Don R. Gray, 1st Vice Commander of Post 313. Volunteers are needed to help set up and take down the event. Don can be reached at 830-336-4335 (H) or 830-388-9084 (C).
Please come out Monday and pay your respects to those who sacrificed all.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank the 27 American Legion Post 313 members for attending the Memorial Day Observance today at Veterans Plaza to honor those men and women who sacrificed all for our country. Fortunately, the weather cooperated and we were able to proceed with no rain during the observance. I believe we were able to have a very nice event. Thanks for showing up early to help set up and also take down after. Unity as a group of veterans was very evident. To be able to do this in such a short time frame was fantastic.
I am so proud of the CMTV American Legion Post 313 members!! We will continue to grow as an organization to support Veterans and our Community. A special thanks to those who participated in the event. Commander Cecchini was the guest speaker and did a great job. The Voss’s were so impressed with the wreath presentation for their son and our namesake Captain Mark Tyler Voss and could not thank us enough. We also had a great response from our First Responders in attendance and we appreciate them all.
Again, thanks to all and hope to be together soon.
Don R. Gray
1st Vice Commander
